Realme X launched with AMOLED display, pop-up camera, 48MP Sony IMX Sensor, VOOC 3.0
The incredible response from the Indian market fuelled Realme to take on the existing competition in China. Today, Realme removed the curtain from their much-anticipated Realme X which is the company’s first flagship device in China. The Realme X has top of the line specification in the budget price range, the device has an AMOLED notchless display with a pop-up selfie camera and a 48MP primary camera all of these features are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset.
Realme is a subsidiary brand of Oppo and both of these companies are a part of BBK electronics. Although BBK electronics and Oppo are both Chinese brands and Realme Global CEO is from China, Realme in their first year didn’t launch a single device in the Chinese market. Realme first focused on the Indian Market and within the very first year Realme abled to attain 6% of the entire Indian smartphone market. The Success in the Indian market fuelled Realme to expand their market to the Chinese And European Market. Realme will debut their devices in the European Market later this year but for the Chinese market, the wait was over with the launch of Realme X. Alongside the Realme X, the company also announced the Realme X lite which is the Realme 3 Pro with a different name.
Realme’s target audience is Youth and they know that youth prefers features over marketing. Realme cuts down on the marketing budget and utilize the market budget on their smartphone’s specifications and this led to Realme gathering a lot of support from the youth of India, Realme is repeating the same strategy in China and hoping for the same result. Realme X is also offering a feature-packed phone with premium design at a very affordable price.
The device is very unique for a Realme product this is Realme’s first attempt for a notch-free, full-screen display. The Realme X is using a pop-up selfie mechanism to attain a 91.2 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Realme X sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ (2340×1080) Samsung AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. This is also the first time Realme is opted for an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

The look and overall feel of the device reflects a premium touch to it thanks to the premium-looking 3D glass looking panel on the back. The device comes in gradient blue and gradient white colours. Realme knew to attract Youth they have to use a powerful midrange processor and they chose to go with the 2.2Ghz Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with Adreno 616 GPU and 8GB of RAM to give users a lag-free experience. The specification feels very similar to the Realme 3 Pro. Realme X can be maxed out with 128GB of internal storage with support for storage expandability up to 256GB. There are two modes to boost the performance of the device first being a Hyperboost 2.0 mode to improve performance and the second one is Gameboost 2.0 to improve gaming performance by reducing drops in framerate.
There is a dual camera setup on the back which includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 1.6 micron pixels and 6P lens for high-resolution pictures and better low light shots and a 5MP secondary depth camera for portrait/bokeh shots. The camera also comes with Nightscape long exposure mode for better low light photos and Chroma Boost for better HDR images. The Realme X also supports AI scene recognition which can help users in certain situations and 960fps super slow motion recording. The front camera is a pop-up camera which houses a 16MP f/2.0 for selfie shots the entire mechanism rises from the top middle of the frame and takes about 0.74 seconds to pop up.

The similarities between the Realme 3 Pro and the Realme X also can be seen when it comes to fast charging. The Realme X and Realme Lite which is another name for Realme3 pro both supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging, which means charging the device to 100 percent should happen in about 80 minutes. The fast charger comes in the box to charge the 3,765mAh battery. The latest VOOC technology is very useful while gaming it can maintain fast charging even at the time of long intense gaming sessions. The Realme X also supports Dolby Atmos sound and the device is running ColorOS 6 which is based on Android Pie.
Realme also announced the Realme X Lite which is rebranded name of Realme 3 Pro. This powerful device has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dewdrop notch display, gradient glass looking design, Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB of RAM and a massive 4,045mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 support.
The Realme X price in China For the 4GB + 64GB variant starts at CNY 1,499 which is Rs 15,329 or $217. For the 6GB + 64GB variant it costs CNY 1,599 which is Rs 16,340 or $232 and for the maxed out 8GB + 128GB model will cost you CNY 1,799 which amounts to Rs 18,377 or $261.
The Realme X Lite has also been announced as a rebranded Realme 3 Pro. Its price in China starts at CNY 1,199 which is Rs 12,259 or $174 for the 4GB + 64GB base variant and goes up to CNY 1,499 which is Rs 15,329 or $217 for the 6GB + 128GB version.
