Xiaomi and One Plus are known for providing value for money products but when it comes for radiations levels they also emit the highest radiation level as well.
Xiaomi partnered with Google to provide its users an alternative to their MIUI skin with the introduction of Stock Android in a Xiaomi Smartphone. This phone was a massive hit in India but according to a new report by the German Fedefal Office For Radiation Protection (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz) this device is emitting the maximum radiation.
The overall list of top 16 smartphones emitting the most radiation compiled by Statista is highly dominated by One Plus and Xiaomi Devices. In order to Make value for money smartphones, these companies are compromising with the design and material elements. Out of 16 smartphones, half of the list is compromises of Only One Plus and Xiaomi devices.
Statista List is topped with Xiaomi My A1 with a SAR value of 1.74 watts per kilogram followed by the One Plus 5T with a SAR Value of 1.68 watts per kilogram both above the maximum recommended mark of 1.6 watts per kilogram. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes third with a SAR value of 1.58 W/Kg and the Current One plus Flagship 6T comes in the fourth position with a SAR Value of 1.55 W/Kg.
Even Big Companies like Apple, Google, HTC and Sony Devices are ranked in the list of highest Radiation emitting devices. HTC U12 lite comes in the fifth position while Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 comes in 9th and 14th position. Google latest Flagship Pixel 3 XL is the 7th most radiation emitted device on this list. This is a shameful lesson to these tech giants who are charging a premium price for their devices but fails to deliver a well built safe device that protects the users from harmful smartphone radiations.
Radiation Levels (Max. and Min.)
Samsung Smartphones are the least radiation-emitting device and their devices are dominating the lists for least radiation emitting devices. Galaxy note 8 is the least Radiation emitting device with only Specific Absorption rate (SAR) of 0.17 watts per kilogram.
Martin Armstrong of Statista explains in a post that still there aren’t any universal guidelines for the safe or harmless smartphone radiation level. However, the German certification for environmental friendliness called ‘Der Blaue Engel’ (Blue Angel) only certifies models that come with a SAR value of fewer than 0.60 W/Kg.
In order to make sure your device radiation level is lower or higher than the recommended level. You can check Radiation level in terms of SAR of your smartphone by simply dialing a USSD code *#07#, if results show SAR below 1.6 watts per kilogram (1.6 W/kg) then it is Safe to use your device without any worry but if it exceeds the 1.6 W/Kg mark you are advised to change your smartphone immediately.
