HMD Global unveiled there Nokia X71 in Taiwan. This is their First Smartphone with a triple camera set up at the back with a 48-megapixel sensor and this is also Nokia’s First Ever Smartphone with a Punch-Hole Display.
Nokia in their midrange segment smartphones is blindly following the market trend yet again. Last year Nearly all of their Budget Smartphone was launched with a Notch Display this time around the Nokia X71 comes with a 6.39-inch PureDisplay with FHD+ resolution and 19.3:9 aspect ratio all covered in a beautiful glass body. Nokia is following the PunchHole Display trend and the Nokia X71 has a punch-hole at the upper left corner of the screen which contains the 16MP front camera, leading to an impressive 93 percent screen-to-body ratio.
The Nokia X71 is powered by a slightly outdated octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor along with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory. The storage can be expanded by up to 256GB via a microSD card. Nokia X71 is equipped with Stock Android UI and this device is running Android 9 Pie out of the box backed with a 3,500 mAh battery. Nokia X71 also comes with an included 18W fast charger for rapid charging over USB Type C. For Security Purposes the phone includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and for notifications, Nokia also included an LED power button breathing light. The phone has usual connectivity features like Dual Sim with dual VoLTE standby, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/AGPS + GLONASS + Beidou etc.
In the camera department the device comes with a Zeiss-branded triple camera set up at the back. The triple camera set up comprises of a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, 5MP secondary with an f/2.4 aperture depth sensor, and an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor for wide angle shots. On the front, the Nokia X71 comes with a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture which is placed under the hole in the top left corner.
The Official Pricing for a global variant is unavailable, the Nokia X71 is priced at NTD 11,990 (around 389 US dollars or INR 27,000 approx) in Taiwan. Nokia didn’t clarify their stance on the global launch but according to rumors, HMD will sell this device globally with the name Nokia 6.2 aka Nokia 6 (2019).
